About the NYC Plover Project

About 100 Piping Plovers have nested in NYC in recent years, and fewer than 8,000 plovers remain globally. 

Our mission is to protect endangered Piping Plovers and other fragile beach-nesting birds on New York City’s beaches through education, community engagement, and volunteer stewardship.
