Summer Bird Walk with NYC Plover Project & RISE

Join us for a birding walk to meet some local Rockaway birds. Come and see various birds in Rockaway Community Park in Edgemere. At the end of the tour, we will stop by Rockaway Market Street @ Beach 60th. There will be live music by Billy Sal with Ron Bongo, locally grown fresh produce, and neighborhood vendors. Please wear proper footwear and bring bug repellent. Binoculars will be provided but please bring your own if you have them. Whether you are an expert birder or just starting out, this event is free and all are welcome!

We are thrilled to host Rockaway’s first-ever Black Birders Week Celebration on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 in Edgemere! Join us as we uplift and celebrate the Black Birders experience through a day in nature. We’ll start with a Bird Walk through the Arverne East Nature Preserve and then gather at The Garden By The Bay for nature-oriented activities, discussions, giveaways and lunch. This event is free to the public and all are welcome to join.
